About DuBois Housing Authority

The DuBois Housing Authority is a municipal authority that was created to administer and develop affordable housing for low income families in the City of DuBois. The Housing Authority was created in 1968.

Today the Housing Authority provides assistance to families in DuBois City as well as Brady and Sandy townships through its Public Housing, Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, Gray Foundation Apartments, and Shelter Plus Care Programs.

The housing assistance to low income families is provided through two main programs, Public Housing and the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher programs. The Housing Authority owns and manages public housing apartments. Additional assistance is provided to families through the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program Shelter Plus Care, and Gray Foundation Apartments.


Mission Statement

The DuBois Housing Authority mission is to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing for the lower income families, elderly, and persons with disabilities; and (1) to maintain all public housing units in compliance with the uniform Physical Standards, along with assuring all Housing Choice Voucher Program units meet these same standards; (2) ensure equal opportunity in housing to all eligible individuals; (3) promote self-sufficiency development to families and individuals; (4) and work to improve an individuals quality of life and economic viability.

The DuBois Housing Authority will constantly have the priority of serving those in need whether it is housing, direction in furthering an individuals education to promote job skills, strive to promote pride in the neighborhoods where the individuals reside or encouraging an individuals self esteem. The Authority shall remain focused to improving the lives of those in need through integrity compassion, and readiness to serve.
